Genevieve (Gen) E. (McElwain) McDonald

Genevieve (Gen) E. Mc Donald, 91, of Peoria, AZ. passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 24, 2003.

Gen was the widow of Charles U. Mc Donald and was born in Mauch Chunk, PA. to the late Rose (Rottet) and Harry S. Mc Elwain. A graduate of the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing she was a member of the PA. and AZ. Nurses Assoc. and worked for 30 years in hospitals in Allentown and Phoenix.

She also founded and owned the Baby Formula Service of Arizona until retiring to Prescott, AZ. After her husbands death in 1984 she returned to her roots in PA. A visit in 2000 brought her back to AZ where she again made it her home. She was a member of the Lady Elks and the Lehighton Woman's Bowling League.

She is survived by a son Patrick T. of Phoenix, three daughters, Nancy M. Wukitsch of Phoenix, Joan M. wife of Nevin Krum of Lehighton and Bernice A. wife of Edward Greaney of Kailua, Hawaii, two brothers Harry Mc Elwain of Sun City, AZ. and Bernard Mc Elwain of Allentown PA. also 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son William and brothers William and Leo, and sisters Julia and Mary.

A memorial service will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W Palmeras Lane, Sun City, AZ. on February 5 at 11:00 a.m.

A reception will be held in the parish hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Sunrise Adult Care Home 8636 W. Mauro Lane, Peoria, AZ 85382 where Mother lived for 2 1/2 wonderful, happy years in the care of Ileana, Nicki and Emi or Hospice of the Valley-West Office 9720 W. Peoria Ave, Suite 128, Peoria, AZ 85345. Thanks to Janet and the dedicated hospice team for the superb home care they provided.

Interment will be at Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem, Pa. Rest in peace Mother, we love and miss you.
