The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 5, 2003 Tom Davids, 80, of Mesa passed away on February 3, 2003 at Odyssey Hospice in Mesa surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Brookfield, Illinois on August 24, 1922 to Aiko and Ann Davids. He grew up with a younger brother, Bob, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Arlene, of 59 years; his devoted son Jim Davids (Donna) of Mesa and his beloved daughters Diane Wilcox (Milton) of Sedona and Nancy Davids of Mesa. His love of life and great sense of humor will be forever treasured by his four grandchildren Michael (Catherine), Stephen and Jeffrey Davids of Mesa and Angela Schneider (Adam) of Houston, Texas. Tom served in the United States Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II. Before his retirement, he was a long-time banker in both Michigan and Arizona. He was a member of the Optimist Club of Mesa for many years. Along with his wife, Arlene were members of the First United Methodist Church in Mesa. He was a kind and gentle man whose greatest joy was his family in whom he instilled the values of honesty and hard work. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Thursday at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 North Macdonald St., Mesa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you remember Tom with donations to the Leukemia Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Desert Mountain States Chapter, 2990 E.
