The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 5, 2003 Charles D. Davis June 26, 1924-February 1, 2003 Charles D. "Chuck" Davis, 78, of Scottsdale, AZ (formerly of Oconto, WI) passed away February 1, 2003, surrounded by his wife and four children. Chuck was born in Oconto, June 26, 1924 to Clyde and Beatrice (McDowell) Davis. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1942, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Chuck later married the former Marilyn Cowan October 25th, 1952. He was the long-time owner and operator of Davis Agency, a real estate and insurance firm located in Oconto. The Davis Agency was founded by Pahl and Alice Davis during the 1940's and continues to operate today under different ownership. He also served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Gillett State Bank. Chuck loved spending time with his family and a wide circle of friends in both Wisconsin and Arizona. With his sense of humor and outgoing personality, no one was a stranger to him. He will truly be missed. Charles D. Davis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn, of Scottsdale, AZ; their four children: Mary Beth Daul (Doug) of Green Bay, WI; Tricia Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ; Pahl Davis (Shannon) of Charlotte, NC; and Andrew (Andria) of San Francisco, CA; and seven grandchildren: Anne Marie and Ted Daul, Kelli Anne and Katelyn Thompson, Kelsey and Laina Davis, and Sam Charles Davis. He is also survived by sister, Charlotte (Arnold) DesJardins of Green Bay, WI and brother Dr. Clyde "Larry" Davis (Jan) of Redlands, CA. A private service was held on Monday, February 3, 2003 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Scottsdale. There will be a memorial held in Wisconsin later this year. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Arizona Chapter, 1028 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006-2622. (Obit: Courtesy of Pat Wilson) |
