The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 12, 2003, B10 Harriet Francis Thilmony, 87, Hope, N.D., passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2003 in Mayville, N.D. She was born Nov. 8, 1915 to Robert and Francis (Stuart) McClellan in Hope, N.D. where she grew up and attended school. She married James Peter Ihry on Sept. 4, 1934 and they farmed near Hope until James passed away in 1963. Harriet was remarried in 1964 to George Thilmony. He passed away in October, 1969. Harriet remained in Hope and worked there for several years. She then moved to Wickenburg, Ariz. in 1974 where she was employed as a chef for the Wickenburg Guest Ranch and Tennis Inn and Kay El Bar Guest Ranch. She returned to Hope in 1991. She resided there until 2002, then moved to Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, N.D. until her death. Harriet enjoyed gardening, playing cards, baking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Harriet is survived by four sons, David James (Jane) Ihry, Hope, N.D., Donald Wayne (Toni) Ihry, Kent, Wash., James Douglas (Betty) Ihry, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Jeffrey Michael Ihry, Hope, N.D.; two daughters, Kathryn "Kay" Washburn, Grand Forks, N.D., and Phyllis Arlene (Joseph) Papin, Wickenburg, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Adeline Holt, Centralia, Wash., Lois (Marvin) Ellis, Tacoma, Wash., and Genevieve (Bill) Berggen, Seattle, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James Ihry and George Thilmony; one daughter-in-law; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson. |
