The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 31, 2003, p.B9 Rosetta Baker, 86, passed away at home on Dec. 24, 2003 while convalescing from having an operation a month ago for cancer. A native of Arizona, she was born in Tolleson, Ariz., to Joseph W. and Lena Coleman in 1917. The family moved to California where she grew up. She returned to Arizona when she married Charles Baker in Phoenix in 1938. She worked several years in housekeeping and kitchen at the Wickenburg Community Hospital. Rosetta was a loving wife and mother to their four children, an active member of the Rincon School Board, served on many election boards and was always there when someone needed something done. She loved doing craft projects, crocheting, crossword puzzles, fishing, working in her flower garden and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie in May of 2003, son Mike in 1977. She is survived by daughter Rose Marie Morris of Congress; sons Joe of Wickenburg and Billy of Sweet Hope, ore.; two sisters Katherine Tillotson of Sedona and Vera Murray of Wickenburg; one brother Frank Coleman of California; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren: four great-great-granchildren. Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003 at Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Wickenburg Funeral Home handled arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
