Alva C. Croghan, Jr., 84, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away January 7, 2003. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he moved to Arizona in 1982.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Angeline Croghan; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roland and Doris Myers, Az., Carl and Alice Haines, Oh. and William and Rita Haines of Az.; five nieces and nephews, Roland Myers, Judy Hughes, Cebe Breisch, Chris Haines, and Holly Majcher; eleven great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Al served in the U.S. Army in WW II. He worked for General Motors, Frigidaire Division. After retirement, he owned and operated Croghan's Locksmith in Miamisburg, Ohio. Al is a past master of St. John's Lodge #13 and member of Eastern Star #564, Harvest Chapter.

He was an inspiration and comfort to all who knew him and relied on his kind heart and eagerness to help. He will be greatly missed.

Memorial service Friday, January 10th, 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Master, United Presbyterian Church, 6659 E. University Drive, Mesa, Arizona, 85205.

In lieu of flowers, send donations to the church or Hospice of the Valley, 2145 W. Southern Ave., Mesa, Arizona, 85202.
