Jewel (J.B.) Mann of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away February 1, 2003 at the age of 83.

He was born on December 17, 1919 in Cottage Grove, Tennessee. He served in the Army artillery from 1940 to 1945. He moved with his family to Arizona in 1954. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church of Scottsdale. He was also a member of Disabled Veterans of America and the AirResearch Retiree's Club.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathryn Louise (Wamsley); two sons, James and wife Evelyn of Thorndale, Texas, and John and wife Marcie of Phoenix; and four grandchildren, Joel and wife Sarah of Oakland, California; Paul and fiancee Krislyn Kelsey of Austin, Texas; Jessica and Joshua of Phoenix.

A memorial and commitment service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11am at Ascension Lurtheran Church, 7100 N. Mocking Bird Lane, Scottsdale, Arizona.

Donations and memorials may be made to the Ascension Lutheran Church Rejuvenation Fund or to a cancer research fund of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Whitney & Murphy Arcadia Funeral Home.
