The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 7, 2003 Otto L. Bendheim, M.D., was born on August 12, 1911 in Frankfurt, Germany and passed away February 6, 2003 in Scottsdale, AZ. He came to Phoenix in 1939 as Superintendent of the State Hospital, founded Camelback Hospital in 1954, served on the Arizona Board of Medical Examiners, was President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society and had a private psychiatric practice for over 50 years. In addition, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. from 1942-1946. Otto is survived by his loving wife Ronnie of 56 years; children Vicki (Don, deceased) Pipher of Washington, Paul of Israel, Margo (Paul) Gregory of Tucson, Fred (Sarah) of New York; grandchildren, Jane, Nathan, Jessica, Daniel and Gemma; nephews Paul (Flo) Eckstein, and John (Diane) Eckstein; and cousins Peter (Alice) Buseck and Laura Bendheim. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7th at 2:00p.m. in Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th Street in Phoenix with interment following at Beth El Cemetery.
