William J. Graham, 83, of Sun Lakes, AZ., died February 04, [2003].

William was born and raised in Staten Island, New York, graduating from St. Peters Boys High School. William a WWII veteran, served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1942 1945, after which, he became a New York City Police Officer in 1946, receiving an award in 1954 for Bravery from the Mayor at a City Hall ceremony and promoted to the Detective Division. William retired in 1969 as a Detective 1st Grade.

He and his wife Helen moved to Arizona in 1971 and he worked for the Arizona Republic for many years.

He was preceded in death by wife Helen Knaub Graham, 3 brothers: Charles J., Vincent J., and John (Jack) J. and survived by his sister Mary Elizabeth Sullivan of New Jersey, 5 nephews: Martin J. Graham, Brian J. Graham, Vincent J. Graham, Timothy J. Graham and John J. Graham Jr, 3 nieces: MaryAlice Fegeley, Ellen Graham and Maureen Petersen; 15 grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be 11 AM, Saturday, February 08, 2003 at St. Steven's Roman Catholic Church in Sun Lakes, AZ, final resting place to be Valley of the Sun Cemetery, Chandler, AZ.
