The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Friday, January 10, 2003 William L. Butler Jr., (Bill) went home to be in the presence of his Lord January 8, 2003. Bill was born July 29, 1918 in Bromide, Oklahoma; moved to Abilene, Texas where he graduated from Hardin-Simmons University and then did graduate work at TCU. He was in the U. S Army Air Corp, 36th Division and was employed as a medical technologist for an oil firm hospital in Borger, Texas. Bill was a devoted husband to Virginia, a loving and compassionate father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; daughter, Patricia Wood of Phoenix; son, Bill (Lynn) Butler, III of Phoenix; grandchildren, Kyle and Allison Wood; Jessica and Alicia Butler and great-grandson, Killian Wood. Bill's greatest pleasures were golf, his computer and most of all his family and friends. Bill attended Grace Bible Church of Sun City and his family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace Bible Church. Visitation will be held at Sunland Mortuary, Saturday, January 11, 2003, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 12, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., also at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City.
