Robert O. Gaskin, 76, a native of Phoenix, died Dec. 16, 2000. Robert Gaskin has been in the security field since 1947 in Phoenix. He was the last partner of the Merchants Police Patrol, which was established October 15, 1910 in Phoenix. He was one of the original founders and past owner of Ace Alarm Company of Arizona, which originated April 1, 1957. Mr. Gaskin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a charter member of the Arizona Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. He joined Continental Security Guards April 1, 1973. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Peggy); daughters Patty Tax, of Phoenix, Lynda Howell of Friday Harbor, WA and Debbie Gaskin of Rice, WA; son, Robert Jr. of La Jolla, CA; and 6 grandchildren. Visitation and Rosary Tuesday December 19, 2000 at Hansen Mortuary 8314 N. 7th St. Phx. Graveside services Wednesday, December 20, 2000 St. Francis Cemetery 5005 E. Oak St. Phx.
