| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 9, 2003 Sylvia Hefley Bryant, 83, Chandler, Arizona, passed away February 7, 2003. Visitation: 5-8 P.M., Tuesday, February 11, 2003 and Funeral 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ. Interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, AZ. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. Mrs. Bryant was the daughter of William H. and Myrtle P. Hefley of Pittsburg, Oklahoma, one of eleven children. Her mother passed away in 1935 when Sylvia was 16, leaving her to manage the family for her father. She married Ralph Eugene Bryant of Oklahoma in 1938 and had two sons, Billy David Bryant of Chandler, AZ, and Jimmy Ralph Bryant of Gilbert, AZ. After moving to Arizona in 1958, she worked as a bookkeeper for Anchor Roofing, retiring in 1978. Her husband passed away in 1990 after 52 years of marriage. Besides her two sons she leaves four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation 5-8 PM, Tuesday, 2/11/03, and funeral service 1:00 PM, Wed., 2/12/03 at Chapel of the Chimes, Glendale, AZ.
