| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 9, 2003 Harold A. Sheckler, 80, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away February 7, 2003. Born in Slatington, PA, he came to Arizona 15 years ago from Colorado. Mr. Sheckler was a shipbuilder at Philadelphia Navy Yard and a civilian design engineer for the Navy Department. He also was an Army Air Corps and Navy CB veteran serving during WWII and Korean wars. Survivors include his wife Ethel Sheckler, 6 children, Linda Mencarini, Gary Sheckler, Susan Driesens, Ronald Sheckler, Wendy Kurtz & Barbara Harmon, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis Betzler. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM, Sunday, Feb. 9 at Messinger Indian School Mortuary, 7601 E.
