Margaret Nora (Wells) Jones

Margaret Nora Wells Hagan Jones, 87, of Dudleyville, passed away Nov. 26, 2006 at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe.

Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 9, 1919 to Harvey Harold Wells and Mary Spangler Taylor in Lincoln, California. She was one of 10 children. She married at the age of 17 and had five girls and three boys.

She loved to work on cars and became a welder during World War II. She owned and worked her own mining claims in Prescott, Arizona.

She was a registered nurse and later pursued a career in pathology, working as a pathologist’s assistant at the Yavapai County Hospital.

Mrs. Jones loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was a skilled marksman. She was a resident of Dudleyville from 1954-2006.

During her lifetime, she lost four children, one grandson, one great-granddaughter and was widowed three times.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She left those whom she encountered with great dignity, strength and love. She will be greatly missed and loved forever.

She leaves behind daughters, Mary Larman of Van Alstyne, Texas, Doris Holcomb (Edwin) Colby of Dudleyville, Bernice (Albert) Heck of Kearny and Pamela (Frank) Martinez of Tucson; 17 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Jones will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, at 9 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kearny with a viewing the night before from 6-8 p.m. also at the church. Bishop Brad Baker will officiate.

Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.

Griffith Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
