The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Saturday, January 11, 2003 Maria Gutierrez passed away January 7, 2003 at Santa Monica, Calif. where she lived near her son for the past two years. Maria came to Arizona from Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico in the 1940's. She and her predeceased husband Jesus Gutierrez, owned and operated Gutierrez Barbershop where Bank One Ballpark now stands. Maria's family and deep faith were very important to her and she enjoyed life. She is survived by daughter Cecelia (and husband Glenn) Gaelick of Phoenix, son Jorge (and wife Fiona) Gutierrez of Los Angeles, grandchildren John and Patrick Relihan, Alisha (and husband Chris) Farhrendorf, Robert Gaelick, Camille Gutierrez, great-grandchildren Christopher and Andrew Fahrendorf, sister Maria De Jesus Romero of Tucson and dear friend Arsenia (Celia) Torres. Maria's two sons Francisco and Guillermo Gutierrez predecease her. The Rosary will be on Saturday January 11th, 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary followed by graveside prayer at St. Francis Cemetery. Courtesy of Pat Wilson. |
