Mrs. Ethel Walters, age 87, of Phoenix, died on December 24, 2000. A native of Hawthorne, Oklahoma and resident of Phoenix for over 74 years, she taught seamtress classes for the city of Phoenix and served on the Phoenix Election Board for many years. Survivors include 11 children: Dorothy Worthy, Evelyn Mitchell, Alyce Jackson, James L. Walters, George M. Walters, Ethel I. Williams, Rita P. Walters, Glodeen E. Howard, Daphne Walters-Burt, Marva Walters-Hedrick and Manuel Walters. A special niece, Crystal J. Gholson. 38 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Universal Memorial Center, 1100 E. Jefferson St., Services Friday from the First New Life Full Gospel Fellowship Church, 1902 W. Roeser. Bishop H.L. Barnwell, Pastor. Interment at Phoenix Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Universal Memorial Center The Arizona Republic December 28, 2000. |
