William (Bill) Johnson

William (Bill) Johnson, our loving husband, father, and grandfather traveled on his last journey, without his wife, Shirley, to be with the Lord on January 9, 2003.

He was an adventuresome, well-traveled humanitarian and communitarian.

He served in the Coast Guard-WWII.

After well-deserved retirement from 28 years of employment with the Scottsdale School District, he and his wife Shirley worked for the National Park Service for 11 years.

He was also involved with the Sister City Program as President and volunteer and also Board of Adjustments, Library Board and Board of Foster Care in Phoenix. His passion was RVing and traveling with his family starting in 1966. When his kids were grown, he traveled with his wife extensively to all parts of the world by freighter, train, and plane.

Bill "Dad" is survived by his wife and four children, Amy (Pat), Scott, Marty (Carol), Andrew (Lisa), and eleven grandchildren; Jennifer, Garrett, Ryan, Allison, Dusty, Stephanie, Kevin, Raven, Sean, Terry and Talon.

Visitation, Monday, January 13th, 4-8 p.m., Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd., Scottsdale.

Funeral Services, Tuesday, 10 a.m., January 14th, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 3801 N. Miller Rd., Scottsdale, Az.

In lieu of flowes the family requests donations to the Bill Johnson Saguaro High Memorial Fund.
