| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, January 12, 2003 E. Clarence Sterkeson, 83, passed away January 8, 2003. He was born June 17, 1919 in Rockford, Ill., moved to Tempe, Az., Dec. 8, 1978. He was a U.S. Navy, WWII Veteran and a avid Barbershop singer. He worked many years at Woodward Governor Company in Rockford as a Methods Engineer and continued that work in Arizona for several companies. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Eleanor Dahlheimer Sterkeson, two sons, John of Rockford and Paul of Mesa, Az., 8 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
