The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona July 17, 2003 John Whiting Brown, 81, died July 12, 2003 in Mesa. He was born in St. Johns Jan. 23, 1922 and spent his entire life in Arizona. He served a hitch in the US Navy during World War II. John worked as a refrigeration technician for most of his life. He is survived by his son, Michael Farr (Patti) Brown of Eagar; three daughters, Bonnie Kay (Gale) Bryce of Orem, Utah, Lynda (Terry) Lee of Mesa and Susan (Gene) Wikle of Mesa; sisters, Beverly Killpack of Utah, Cathleen Wilson of Idaho, Margaret McGinnis of Phoenix, and Roberta Williams of Phoenix; and one brother, Frank Brown of California. His legacy consists of 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Norma; and a son, John A. Brown. Visitation will be held July 19 from 10-10:45 a.m. at the St. Johns LDS Downtown Chapel, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
