Gary Verl Heap, 54, died at his home in St. Johns, Sept. 27, 2003.

He was born Oct. 17, 1948, in St. Johns, to Verl and Dawn Heap. Gary was an outgoing person and many loved him. Throughout his lifetime he was involved in many different activities. He participated in sports, hunting, fishing, boating, skiing, music, riding horses and was an avid ASU fan.

He loved life and people and wanted everyone around him to love and enjoy life as much as he did and went about helping to see that they did. Through all of his trials, he had a positive outlook and endured to the end.

Loved ones surviving him are his wife Lila; daughters, Jaime and (Boyd) Husley, Nikki and (Trevor) Mineer and Brittany Heap; Also his parents Verl and Dawn Heap; and siblings, LeAnn and (George) Proctor, Jimmy and (Jenny) Heap, Roger and (Terri) Heap and Eileen and (Darrell) Lindsey; also 30 nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Downtown Chapel in St. Johns Wednesday, Oct. 1. Interment will be in the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.

Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns was in charge of the arrangements.
