| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 10, 2003 George Geis, 80 of Mesa, Arizona passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at Springdale West Nursing Home. He was born on August 19, 1922 in Elmsford, New York. He was a retired policeman from the Scarsdale Police Dept. in New York. He served in the US Army and was a WWII Veteran. He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughters Jodi Whitelaw, Cathy Dewar, Susan Alonge, Edith Decker; sons: George C. Geis Jr., Kenneth Velie, John Velie, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 13, 2003 at Lakeshore Mortuary 1815 S. Dobson Road in Mesa. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Phoenix Chapter, 1028 E. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85006. Lakeshore Mortuary handled the arrangements (480) 838-5639.
