It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Michael R. Wolf, 56, on Dec. 1 in San Antonio, Texas. Mike was born March 13, 1953 in Phoenix, Ariz., to Roger and Mildred (Hardin) Wolf.

Mike grew up in Buckeye, Ariz., graduating from BUHS in 1971.

He is survived by daughters Michelle Del Wolf Quigley (Cren), Megan Mescal Wolf (Jerome Sharp), son George Wolf, and brother Scott Wolf.

He is survived by his wife Ofelia Valenzuela Wolf, and children Ernesto (Christy) Valenzuela, Vanessa Valenzuela Muro (Ruben), and Veronica Valenzuela. Grandchildren include Rhett, Kiana and Braun Quigley; Kaya Mescal Sharp; Diego, Mateo and Anabel Valenzuela. He also leaves many extended family members and friends who mourn his death.

Mike was a veteran in the cattle business. He traded cattle on the Mexican border for the last 25 years, and for 15 years he and Jim Bramwell pastured cattle in Pagosa Springs, Colo., and in Chromo and Chama, N.M.

No matter how good or bad the situation, his sense of humor always brought laughs to everyone around him. Mike met people from all over, and they immediately became his friends for life. He took great pride in his businesses and was a man of his word.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roger and Mildred Wolf; and first wife Bronwyn Brooks Wolf.

Mike was a lung transplant recipient and his case will be studied to further educate the transplant field of medicine. If you choose, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UHS Foundation in honor of Mike Wolf, P.O. Box 33038, San Antonio, TX 78265-3038.

A Catholic mass will be held at Santuario San Judas Tadeo, 4006 Hidden Way, El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. Flowers may also be sent to his celebration of life on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at his ranch, 6982 McNutt Rd., La Union, N.M.
