Posted 2008-02-20 by Edward Peed
Catalina Dorame Moreno Born April, 1926 in Hayden Jct., AZ, died February 15, 2008.

Preceded in death by husband, Arnold L. Moreno; son, Arnold D. Moreno; and parents, Fidencio and Angela Dorame. Survived by daughter, Belia (Mort) Sadowksy; granddaughter, Alicia (Michael) Robinson; great-granddaughter, Alyssa; brothers, Genaro (Vera) Dorame, Ray (Maria Elena) Dorame; nieces, Olivia (Richard) Goodridge, Lilia (Gary) Underwood, Christine (Robert) Barriga, Delilah (Scott) Piddington, Elissa Knaiger, Selina Dorame; godchildren, lifetime friend, Maguita Florez, and many other special people she brought into her heart as extended family.

She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, companion, friend, and confidante to many. She was an active member of St. Joseph's parish and was at the right hand of her husband as he fulfilled his ministry as a deacon. She taught catechism, helped organize and promote countless church fund raisers, lead others through Camp Fire Girls and Club Scouts, and gave from her heart to everyone she loved.

After the death of her husband she moved to Tucson. She became a member of Most Holy Trinity Parish where she made many good friends and continued her tradition of support of her church.

She fought valiantly to live her life as fully as possible after being diagnosed with Parkinson's. She was proud of her accomplishments and was ready to give encouragement and support of anyone around her.

We will all miss her laughter, her sense of humor, her stories, her generosity of spirit, and the smell of her empanadas baking in the oven.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research or the American Parkinson Disease Association - Arizona Chapter.

Please join us in thanking God for the wonderful gift that was Catalina.

Rosary will be said at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 300 Mt. View Drive, Hayden, Arizona on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:30 A.M.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with graveside services to follow. Arrangements by Griffith Mortuary, Kearny, Arizona.

Published in the Tucson Newspapers on 2/19/2008.
