Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, February 20, 2008 Carol Hale Mrs. Hale It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a very special and esteemed daughter, mother, sister and friend. Carol Hale, born in Chicago, Ill., but raised and cultured throughout the world, died peacefully at Mountain View Manor in Prescott, Ariz., on Feb. 13, 2008. Carol was 59 years old and had lived a fulfilling, enriching and respectable life. During her life, Carol had the opportunity to travel around the world, visiting marvelous and vibrant peoples in parts of Asia, Europe and the North American continent where she was born. Of the various people she met in her travels, none stood out more in her mind, nor touched her heart more, than the impoverished and humble peoples of Africa. It was during her last year at Carroll’s College in Waukesha, Wis., that she visited Ethiopia, spending time studying at the university in Addis Ababa. There she encountered members of different tribes who would shape and redefine her view of the world forever. In Carol grew her compassion for helping to alleviate the struggles of others, and she attempted to spread that kindness of spirit in her profession as teacher. Most notably, Carol taught adults as well as teenagers what she had mastered and conquered of the English language. She entered this profession not for the money, but for the intrinsic awards of positively influencing her students. As Carol’s teaching career came to an early close, she never once left the post of teacher – carrying on the legacy she had built by supporting her family in the ways she knew how. Carol Hale passed away from a complication caused by Alzheimer’s disease in the place she had learned to call home. Her nurses at Mountain View Manor, as well as Meadow Park Care Center, gave their time and hearts to take care of her, and they will never forget her sweetness. As part of the large family who continues to love Carol, we can attest to the lessons we have learned from her about living life with dedication to, and affection for, those in need. Carol is survived by her only son, Matteo Musumeci; her sister Susan Kuder and husband Dennis Kuder; and her mother Ruth Lietz … but also by the numerous many who made it their daily honor to make her life more peaceful. The family cordially wished to invite Carol’s friends, community members and those who felt a bond to her to a memorial service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, 2008, at the Paulden Baptist Church, Paulden, Ariz., with the Reverend David Cox officiating. Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home. Information provided by survivors. |
