Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, February 20, 2008 John “Don” Kizer, age 95, passed away on Feb. 18, 2008, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Don was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Prescott, Ariz. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Prescott High School in 1932. During his high school years, he called crews at night for Santa Fe Railroad and later became a conductor working between Prescott and Phoenix. After 40 years of service to Santa Fe Railroad, he retired in 1977. He was a member of the United Transportation Union for 65 years, Prescott Elks Lodge 330 for over 60 years and a member of the Smoki People. Don’s greatest joy was his family and traveling. He is survived by his wife Ruthann (Partridge) Kizer; daughters Sylvia Glaspy of Australia, Donna (Phil) Beverly of Idaho, Cathy (Ray) Derby of Oregon and Karen (Ron) Halford of Prescott. Grandchildren are John, Jim, Darla and Fawn Glaspy of Australia, Bill Beverly, LaDawn (Dave) Saxton of Idaho, Carey Derby of Oregon, Clint (Loreta) Halford of Chino Valley, Lisa (Brandon) Mosher of Montana and Tara (Ryan) Seis of Seligman.
