Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa November 2, 1994 William Sanders, Arizona Funeral services for William (Bill) J. Sanders of Arizona, were Oct. 26, 1994 in Glendale, Ariz. He passed away at Brighton Care Home in Sun City; Ariz. Burial was at the Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale. He was born Oct. 24, 1926 to William and Glada (Warnstaff) Sanders. He married Cleta Hileman on June 25, 1953 at the Leon Centennial. He was Postmaster at Macksburg from 1974 until retiring in 1984. He was a member of the JCs of America; BB Gun Safety; Lions Club in Carlisle; Covered Bridge Committee; and the Philatelic Stamp Program at Macksburg and helped organized the Macksburg Boosters Club. He was Mayor of Macksburg and was the creator of the National Skillet Throw at Macksburg. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving relatives include his wife; two sons, James A. Morrie of San Bernadino, Calif., and Clayton Sanders; two brothers. Stephen Sanders of Bethany, Mo., and Paul Sanders of Afton; and two grandchildren. |
