Frances Leota (Tootie) (McIntyre) Wood

Frances (Tootie) McIntyre Wood passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz., She was 83 years old.

Tootie was born on March 22, 1924, in Phoenix, Ariz., the youngest child (after her sister Betty McIntyre Clarke) of Dr. Arthur J. and Leolin Eubanks McIntyre (all of whom predeceased Tootie).

Tootie graduated from North Phoenix High School in 1942 and the University of Arizona in 1946.

She married Dr. Joshua Powell Wood, Jr. (who also predeceased her) in 1948 and has three surviving children, John McIntyre Wood of San Bernardino, Calif., Lynn Irene Wood of Prescott, Ariz., and Jean Ann Bossert of Ridgecrest, Calif.

Tootie was a member of Phi Beta Phi Sorority at the University of Arizona and the Assistance League and Arrowhead Country Club, both in San Bernardino, Calif., where her husband practiced medicine for 32 years. After retiring, they lived in Payson, Ariz., for 13 years. Upon her husband’s passing, Tootie moved to Prescott, Ariz., where she lived for nine years up until the time of her own death.

A private memorial service will take place in Prescott, Ariz., at a later date.
