Josephine Ellen (Mehn) Towler

Josephine Ellen Towler, 82, of Prescott, Ariz., formerly of Pontiac, Ill., passed away Feb. 9, 2008, at Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott, Ariz. Josephine was born April 19, 1925, in Chenoa, Ill., to Peter Heinrich and Grace Mehn.

She married Ernest Murray Sept. 12, 1942, and later married Davis Towler in 1963. Josephine was a homemaker, and a loving mother and friend who was always there when needed. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting and sewing clothes for her daughters. She also loved skating and dancing, winning several awards for both. She often took in children to her home when they had nowhere else to go, loving and treating them as her own. She will be greatly missed by everyone who loved and knew her throughout her life. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, Ill.

Josephine’s parents and a brother, Ronald Heinrich, preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Ernest (Martha) Murray of Chillicothe, Ill., Stephen Bradley of Phoenix, Ariz., and Davis (Jame) Towler of Creve Coer, Ill.; daughters, Judith (Larry) Kelly of Belleview, Ill., Sharon (Daniel) Siegfried of Prescott, Ariz., and Marla Towler of Prescott, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil Heinrich of Pekin, Ill., and Merlin Heinrich of Springbay, Ill.; and sister Rosemary Stanley of Bloomington, Ill.

Funeral Services for Josephine will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Duffy Funeral Home in Pontiac, Ill., with Monsignor Thomas Mack officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
