Walter N. Homan Takes Own Life

Walter N. Homan, a retired Union Pacific railroad engineer and resident of Arizona for the past decade, took his own life at his home here early last Saturday morning.

Justice of the Peace R. L. Westall, in his capacity as ex-officio coroner, said Mr. Homan, who was in poor health, draped a blanket over a gas heating stove, put his head under the blanket and turned on the gas.

Mr. Homan left a note addressed to his son, W. T. Homan of Los Angeles, who is believed to be a pilot for Western Airlines.

Judge Westall had the body sent to Phoenix for an autopsy. Cremation followed.

Mr. Homan was born October 15, 1882 and is believed to have lived in Nevada for many years while employed by the Union Pacific. He was an honorary life member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
