James Paul Roupe, 85 of Mesa, passed away February 20, 2003. He was born January 23, 1918 in Lester, W.V. He moved to Arizona in 1956. He had been a brakeman on the Virginian Railroad in W.Virginia and a machinist after moving to Arizona.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Esther; his daughter Betty Gifford (David)and son David Roupe (DeAnne). He was "Popo" to his four grandchildren, Ron Gifford (Kim), Ken Gifford (Tina), Deborah Clawitter and Darin Roupe. He has nine great grandchildren, Mellisa Gardoni (Harold), Derek, Aubrey, Austin, Ashlyn, Cody, Dillon Gifford and Magen & Mallory Clawitter. Two great great grandchildren, Sabrina and Jaden Gardoni.

He was one bright spot in our family and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Resthaven Park Mortuary Chapel, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix with visitation 2 hours prior to service. Rev. Stanley R. McElrath of the Church of the Nazarene will be officiating.
