| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona February 25, 2003 Joel S. Newell, 39, of Ames, Iowa, passed away. Joel was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa November 16, 1963. He graduated from Ames High School in 1983. He attended DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa. Joel last worked at Peerless Professional Cleaning in Ames, Iowa and was a member of member of First United Methodist Church in Ames, Iowa. He is survived by his parents Parents: Donald and LaVone (Conrad) Newell of Ames, Iowa; brother: Mark Newell of Canyon, Texas; and sister: Roxanne Newell of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Newell and Paternal and Maternal Grandparents. Visitation on Monday, February 17, 2003 from 9:30 a.m. to time of service at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, Iowa. Funeral Services on Monday, February 17, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, Iowa with Reverend Fred Lewis officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery in Guthrie Center, Iowa.
