The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona December 21, 2004 Christian "Chris" Earnest Obrock III, age 57, was called home to God December 16, 2004 after fighting a courageous 3 year battle with throat and lung cancer. A kind, generous, loving, friend & mentor to all who knew him. Chris was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 5, 1947. As a teen, his family moved to Scottsdale where he graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a Masters Degree in Business Management, a recipient of many awards throughout his careers at AZ Bank, the Insurance Industry and the Roomstores, Inc (12 years employed). Chris was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many who will miss him greatly. In 2002 Chris married his soul-mate, Charlene HANCOCK. Chris is survived by his wife Charlene; his sons, Ryan and Blake; his daughter, Julie KOERNER (Ben); granddaughters, Sydney NOELLE and Kennedy Grace; his mother, Janice UNGER OBROCK; his sister, Carol BIRKS; 4 nephews and 1 niece. Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, 85042. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made in Chris Obrock's memory to the American Cancer Society.
