Jesse Rivera Sr. died March 4, 2008, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 7, 1940, the son of Bartolo and Viviana (Mendez) Rivera, in Jerome, Ariz. Jesse was 67 years old.

Jesse’s passion was always to work on cars no matter if it was after working a 10-hour day; he was never too tired to work on what he loved best. He and his beloved Rosie use to love playing bingo. He was proudest of his family and his beautiful beloved wife, Rosie, who preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 2007.

He is survived by his children, Jesse (Cathy), Jesse Jr., Henry Bojorquez, Joe, James, Michelle (Gerardo) Saenz and Joyce (Raymond) Villa; sisters Mary (Fred) Wetlaufer, Ynfra DeLeon and Tencha (Willy) Aston; brothers Ernie and Joe (Diane); 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton, with visitation two hours prior.

A celebration of Jesse’s life mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz.
Commendation and final farewell will be at IOOF Cemetery.
