Clinton Lee Flake was born in Houston, Texas on January 11, 1981, the son of Raymond and Angela Flake. Clinton spent the early years of his life throughout the southwest, as his father’s employment took them to various destinations. In 1999, Clinton’s family relocated to St. David, as they owned and operated the 86 Café in Benson. Clinton spent much of his time working at the family’s new venture. While attending school, he met April Forbes. They continued to date until their marriage February 16, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following their marriage, Clinton and April moved to Idaho, where they began their family. In October of 2001, Clinton and April returned to Arizona, settling in Thatcher. Clinton quickly obtained work in construction and later for E.A. Glass. On February 16, 2002, Clinton and April were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa Temple. In May of 2002, Clinton became a father, as his first son, Mathew, was born. Clinton continued working to support his young family, serving as manager of the Auto Spa. Shortly thereafter, Clinton obtained worked with Valley Security. In the spring of 2008, Clinton began suffering from health related issues. That summer, he and his father purchased Valley Security, where Clinton worked as the owner and general manager. Although Clinton worked many long hours in support of his family, he always made sure that he had time for what was most important in his life, his wife and children. He could often be found in the evenings playing a game of basketball with his children and the children from the neighborhood. He enjoyed attending Phoenix Suns games with his family as often as possible. Clinton was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in various callings including Primary Teacher and most recently as an Elder’s Quorum Counselor. Clinton is survived by: his eternal companion, April, of Safford; four children, Mathew, Benjamin, and Nathan, Alizabeth also of Safford; his mother, Angela Miles, of Caldwell, Idaho; his father, Raymond (Margaret), of Centennial, Colorado; three sisters, Jessica Bell (David), Chanel Flake, and Ellenea Miles, each of Caldwell, Idaho; six brothers, Trevor (Marci), of Safford, Ryan (Aften), of Lubbock, Texas, Donavan (Amanda), of Grand Junction, Colorado, Andrew (Sarah), of Orem, Utah, Branick (Amanda) and Hamilton, both of Caldwell, Idaho; his grandmothers, Jeanine Flake, of Thatcher and Marilyn Holgate, of Caldwell, Idaho. Clinton was preceded in death by: his grandfathers, Lorenzo Flake and Reldon James Holgate. Obit: Vining Funeral Home, Safford, Arizona. |
