Delores M. (Carroll) Lewis

Dolores M. Lewis, age 86, passed away peacefully at Meadow Park Care Center on March 8, 2008. She was born in Cobh, Ireland, in 1922 to Mary and James Carroll.

Dolores came to New York at the age of seven and while living there she worked in the steamship business and later had a word processing business for 25 years. She retired to Sun City West, Ariz., with her husband Charles, where she taught synchronized swimming. They moved to Prescott in 1987. Dolores volunteered for the Prescott Police Department in administration, animal control and the VA hospital for over 10 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Many admired Dolores. Her fun-loving personality always brightened your day.

Dolores is survived by her husband Charles; son John (Julie) cooper of Mukilteo, Wash.; stepdaughter Karen (Brian) Frutiger of Arizona; two grandchildren; sister-in-law Joan Carroll of Florida; sister-in-law Betty Carroll of New York; many nieces and nephews; and cousins in Ireland and California.

A memorial mass for Dolores will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2008, at the VA Hospital Chapel, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, Ariz.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 Grove Ave., Suite B, Prescott, AZ 86301.
