Bill A. Prueter died March 9, 2008, at his home in Prescott, Ariz., after an extended illness. He was born May 11, 1937, in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Howard and Helen (Barnes) Prueter. Bill was 70 years old.

Bill was a space and electronics engineer working many years for Raytheon Industries. He enjoyed many activities from playing with Barney, his four-footed companion, to reading, hiking, traveling, working on his computers and gadgets and watching sports programs. He was proudest of his children and the fact that they all earned university degrees.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sue – they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 26; son Douglas of Prescott; daughters Pam (Gary) Wells of McMinnville, Ore., and Lisa (John Morgan) Prueter of Newark, Del.; brother David (Sissy) of Prescott; grandchildren Jason, Robert and Brittany; and Maxine Gentry of Tupelo, Miss., Sue’s mother. Bill is also survived by six nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials in his name to the Yavapai Humane Society, 1635 Sundog Ranch Rd., 86301 or Paws Homeless Shelter, c/o Buz at Catholic Charities, 434 w. Gurley St., Prescott, AZ 86301.

Family services will be graveside in the family cemetery in Mississippi.

Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family.
