David S. Smith, 71, of Prescott, Ariz., born March 21, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minn., passed away Saturday February 9, 2008, at his home in Prescott.

A memorial service will take place at a later date.

Services were entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.

David Sherman Smith, born March 21, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minn., passed away Feb. 9, 2008. He was raised in Tucson, Ariz. His parents, Howard and Margaret Smith, both professors at the University of Tucson, and daughter Christine Myers of Prescott, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Nina; sons Scott and Kelly Smith; seven grandchildren; stepdaughters, Cletha Miner and Juana Carter; five step-grand-children; and six great-grandchildren.

David graduated from U of A in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was also a Master Charter Financial Consultant.

David served in the USAF for two years as a 2nd Lt. He was president of Executive Consultants Inc. and Executive Energy Corp. in Phoenix, Ariz., and established Classic Golf Sales and Golf Club Doctor, which engaged in sales and repair of classic golf clubs. He was a personal club repair specialist for tour and club professionals.

David retired to Groom Creek of Prescott, Ariz., in 1997. He stayed active in his passion for golf and is now on the road of Happy Destiny.

The family would like to thank Granite Mountain Hospice and everyone who
supported his final journey.

Memorial services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, at the Unity Church, 140 Arizona St. in Prescott, Arizona.
