Albert J. Dalmolin, 87, of Sun City West died May 29 [2003]. He was born in Globe and graduated from Globe High School in 1933. He played football at GHS and was known as Jumpin' Joe. After graduating from GHS, he went to Arizona State College and played for the Bulldogs where he was known as "Al Thug." ASU's mascot before the Sun Devils was Bulldogs. He was all border conference for three years and also played Texas league baseball. He coached football and wrestling at Phoenix Union High School for many years. Survivors include his wife, Jean Dalmolin; one daughter, Janice; one son, Albert Dalmolin II; three brothers, Art Dalmolin of Gold Canyon, Richard Dalmolin and Frank Dalmolin of Globe; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. |
