Samuel I. Sealfon

Samuel I. Sealfon of Scottsdale, passed away on May 31, 2003 after a long illness. He was 88. He was born on June 11, 1914 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, and was an Arizona resident for over 25 years.

A World War II veteran, he was a successful businessman and owner of Sealfon's of Ridgewood, New Jersey. He had been an active Rotarian in the Scottsdale Papago Rotary Club and founder of the TODAY Award, which is presented to Scottsdale high school students who have demonstrated outstanding, continuous community service. He was also an avid tennis player.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Loeb Sealfon. Survivors include his devoted wife Charlie; sons Dr. Michael S. Sealfon, Kent, WA and Harry I. Sealfon, Rochester, NY; stepsons Michael Schor, Scottsdale, AZ, Steven Schor, Scottsdale, AZ and Jeffrey Hamilton, Los Angeles, CA; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30a.m., June 3, 2003, at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale.
