Donovan "D" Downing, 82, of Tucson died May 3 [2003] at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was born in Rolla, Kan. He was a World War II and Korean Conflict Navy veteran. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1704 and Pinal Mountain BPO Elks Lodge No. 2809. He served as a Navy recruiter in Globe. He was also a 50-year member of Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) No. 176, and active in the Southern Arizona Midget Racing Association. Survivors include his wife, Nadine N. Downing; two sisters, Agnes Wedlake and Phyllis Case of California; one brother, Wade L. Downing of East Los Angeles, Calif.; and two stepdaughters, N. Sue Moyer of St. Johns and T. Gail Morrow of Newcumberland, W.Va. |
