Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, March 27, 2008 Anita Mae Johnson died on March 24, 2008, in her home in Prescott. She was born April 25, 1927, in Waterbury, Conn., to Clinton and Anita (Pelletier) Herman. Anita was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prescott. She attended many classes at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Yavapai College. She enjoyed swimming and being outdoors in the Prescott area. She was also a great seamstress and writer, penning her personal history. Anita is survived by her children, Suzanne Gail Johnson of Prescott, Daniel Bruce (Mary Lee) Johnson of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Byron Lee (Colette) Johnson of Cedar Crest, N.M.; grandchildren Brianna, Kyle, Tyler, Evan, Joshua, Jessica, Ezra, Anna, Claire and Alexis; 10 greatgrandchildren; and sister Barbara (Ralph) Swift of Prescott Valley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Peter Johnson; brother Timothy Johnson; and sister Marjorie (Curtis) Gibbs. A celebration of Anita’s life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave., Prescott. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association (1-800-DIABETES). Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
