Richard George Krejci passed away peacefully in his home on March 21, 2008. He was born in Chicago, Ill., and his family moved to California when he was seven years of age. As a child, Richard loved riding his brother’s horses and playing on their large parcel of land and the hills beyond.

After graduating from Cal Poly University, Richard was employed by Inyo County as the County Auditor-Controller. Later he held the position of Director of Finance for the Torrance Unified School District and retired in 2003 and relocated with his wife, Kathleen, to Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Richard loved the area and would sit and enjoy the view and the wildlife with utter contentment. He had a great sense of humor, great love of the Lord, and a great talent for cooking (a wonderful combination!). We will miss his wit, his laughter and his smiles.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Kathleen; his son Richard E. Krejci of San Diego; his daughter Julie (Krejci) Wilson of Jackson, Wyo.; and his grandchildren Alexandra Krejci and Kyle Wilson.

A visitation for Richard will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, Ariz., with a luncheon to follow at the church. Burial will be at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, Ariz., following the luncheon.

Arrangements entrusted to Sunrise Funeral Home. All friends and relatives are encouraged to visit www.sunrisefuneralhome.com for additional information and to sign the online guestbook.
