Joyce Rae (Sargent) Duthie

Joyce Duthie, 72, of Mesa, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2003 after a long illness. She was born January 21, 1931 to Ray and Fulvia Sargent, the second generation in her family to be born in the East Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert "Gib" Duthie. She is survived by her children, Julie (Victor) Beavers, Gilbert "Gil" (Peggy) Duthie, II, Lisa (Jim) Bagley, Annette (Duane) Gibson, Lori (Kenny) Thatcher and Scott Duthie; three brothers, 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She worked many years at Hancock Fabrics. She was proud of her heritage, loved quilting, sunsets, clouds, desert flowers, reading and her backyard. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2003 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Bunker's Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ and also, one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003 at 10:00 AM. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mesa North Stake Center, 933 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, AZ.
