The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, April 3, 2003 Ralph P. Burrell, 86, of Casa Grande, Arizona, passed away Monday, March 31, 2003. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Cole & Maude Casa Grande Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2003 at 9:00 AM, St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Mt. Burrell, 86, a longtime retail employee in downtown Casa Grande, died March 31, 2003 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Casa Grande Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Burrell was born Oct. 24, 1916 in Altar, Sonora, Mexico, to Carmen Padilla and Jose Q. Burrell. He was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Church and was an altar boy in 1936. He was a charter member of Knights of Columbus in Casa Grande. He was a private, Grade 7 in the National Guard, Company D, 158th Infantry. He was a pharmacy assistant at the old Owl Drug Store and also worked at the Popular Store. He worked for Jones Furniture downtown for 38 years before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Serafina H.; a son, Ralph Burrell of Casa Grande; two daughters, Patricia Burrell of El Paso, Texas, and Carol Kleck of Ohio; four sisters, Consuelo Dorsey, Socorro Martinez and Eva Camez, all of Casa Grande, and Gerry Ramirez of Tucson; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
