Angelo J. Scaglione died April 4, 2008, at the VA Medical Center in Prescott.

Born April 28, 1919, in Girard, Ohio, he was the son of Charles and Jackie (Asato) Scaglione. He was 88 years old.

Angelo married the love of his life, Mary, on Jan. 4, 1940. They raised three daughters together: JoAnn, Marguerite and Angela. They lived in California for 24 years before moving to Arizona in 1974.

Angelo served his country during World War II and worked as a machine foreman in the aeronautical field for many years. He was a hard worker, but enjoyed many recreational activities as well.

In his younger days he loved mushroom hunting with his father. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his beagle, Prince, and spending hours in his garden. He loved bowling with Mary and together they won hundreds of trophies. In his later years he loved watching baseball with his daughter Angela.

Angelo was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years, and the Moose and Elks lodges.

Angelo is survived by his daughters, Angela Woolman and Marguerite Stephenson, both of Prescott; grandchildren Jason, David, Jeanna, Justin, Jimmy, Jonnie, Jody (Joe), Bobby, Danny and Lonnie (Chip); great-grandchildren April May, Jorie, Josh, Jarred, Ashley, Samuel and three on the way; brother Charlie and sister-in-law Theresa; sisters; and many dear nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary; daughter JoAnn Schubert; several brothers and sisters and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, at Arizona Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez St.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Ave.

Graveside committal will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Mountain View Cemetery.
