| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, March 12, 2003 Edward W. Borgen, 88, passed away at his home in Scottsdale on March 8, 2003. Born in Seward, Alaska on Jan. 8, 1915, he was a long time resident of Alaska. He and Janet, his wife of 66 years, moved to Arizona 26 years ago and resided in both Wickenburg and Scottsdale. He is survived by his wife Janet; son, Thomas and wife Peggy of Kirkland, WA; daughter, Patricia and husband Peter Martinson of Seattle WA; daughter, Kathleen and husband John Sheller of Scottsdale; grandchildren, Casey, Kellen and Katy Borgen, Michael Sheller and wife Constance and Erik Sheller and Heather Rafters, great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Edward, Jr. and James Borgen. Mr. Borgen was a Past Exalted Ruler and Life Member of the Ketchikan, Alaska Elks Club, past president of Ketchikan Rotary and had been active in politics in both Alaska and Arizona. A memorial service will be held March 13, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at The Forum Pueblo Norte, 7090 E. Mescal, Scottsdale, Az. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
