Carolyn S. Funk, 81, of Prescott, Ariz., a loving devoted wife and trusted friend, went to be with the Lord and joined her parents Robert and Helen Simmers on Sunday March 30, 2008. Carol was born in Detroit, Mich., on March 26, 1927, and moved to Phoenix in 1955.

She served and worked for First United Methodist Church in Phoenix for 25 years before being appointed Secretary to Bishop Galvin at Conference Headquarters, serving in that capacity for another nine years. She cherished her husband George and was loved by many whose hearts she touched. She always put everyone else above herself. Her cherished memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Carol is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 61 years, George Funk, and many wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at First United Methodist Church, 5510 N. Central, Phoenix.

Services entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
