Floyd Leslie Brown

Floyd Leslie Brown died March 29, 2008, following a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1921, in Colorado Springs and educated at Colorado School of Mines. While in college he met his future wife, Gayle, the love of his life.

Floyd and Gayle started their married life during WWII in Verona, N.J. Floyd later completed his education with a master’s degree in metallurgy at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Recruited into the newly emerging postwar nuclear industry, Floyd made his career as a nuclear engineer with Argonne National Laboratory.

Floyd was a family man who with his wife Gayle loved spending time with friends and family. He was a handy man par excellence traveling to visit family with a toolbox. He loved to dance, traveled the world and at home was active with Lions Club and the Unitarian Universalist Church.

Floyd is survived by his beloved wife, Gayle; their three children, Pam, Cindy and Rich; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Prescott Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 945 Rancho Vista Drive.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Family Care.
