Robert Ellsworth Smith

Robert E. Smith, 90, of Prescott, Ariz., born July 27, 1917, in Ohio, went to be with his Lord Sunday, March 30, 2008.

He was a WWII Navy veteran, traveler and avid bowler. He lived with his wife Alice in Michigan where he worked at Ford Motor Company until retiring to Prescott in 1981. He became an active member of First Baptist Church, delighting in serving others.

Robert is survived by his son Gordon (Sue) Smith; daughter Penny (Brian) Lynn; and grandsons Joshua (Kristin) and Eric Lynn; stepsons Wayne, Dale, Scott Sandberg and their families; and his dear friend Ola Oliver. He was preceded in death by his son Eugene Smith and family; his wife Alice; stepdaughter Diane Laipple; and by his wife Ruby.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Hampton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at First Baptist Church, 148 S. Marina St., Prescott.

Memorial contributions in Robert’s name can be sent to Christian Academy of Prescott, P.O. Box 226, Prescott, AZ 86302.

Hampton Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
