Bernard (Bernie) Skildrum

Bernard “Bernie” Skildum, 82, died Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Prescott, Ariz. Bernie was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Vernon County, Wis., to Nels and Ettie (Vance) Skildum.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Mildred (Kennedy) Skildum. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Errol, Ernest; sisters, Clara, Ester, Pearl, Vurla and Bessie.
Bernie is survived by sister Stella Landes of Viroqua, Wis., and many nieces and nephews.

Bernie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bernie was a member of the American Legion Post 0108, St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley, Ariz., Sacred Heart Society and the Knights of Columbus.

Visitation for friends and family will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Germaine’s. Rosary will be said at 10 a.m. and funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Germaine Catholic Church with Father Vollmer officiating.

In lieu of flowers and remembrances, please make donations to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Funeral arrangements for Bernie were arranged by Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home.
